焦点は国の予算なのだから、国益や国家などの言葉が多くなることについて、ある程度は理解する。訴求の相手は国会議員なのだから、このフレーズが有効に働く場合も、確かにあるのかもしれないとは思う。
でもやっぱり「ある程度」だ。科学者からこれほどに臆面もなく、国家や国益などと発言されると、何となく萎えてしまう。
本音は、別にあると思いたい。科学者ならば、「国家や国益、国境などどうでもいい。私はただ、万物の真理を知りたいだけなのだ」とか言ってほしい。"
